How an image QR code actually works
A QR code can only hold text — it can't contain the image itself. What an image QR code encodes is a link to your picture hosted online. When you upload an image here, we host the file over HTTPS and generate a code pointing to it; anyone who scans lands on the image directly, full-screen, on any phone. That's why 'embedding a photo in a QR code' tools that promise to skip hosting either produce codes too dense to scan or tiny, unusable thumbnails.
